Dr. Nick is passionate about helping people through his love of dentistry. He is an international instructor in cosmetic dentistry and strives for excellence in all aspects of patient care as a “Smile Expert“!
Dr. Nick, as his patients usually refer to him, is enthusiastic and friendly and strives to treat all of his patients with kindness and competence. He and his team create a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who steps through the doors of his practice. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry with a focus in cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, and Invisalign treatment.
Dr. Nick takes patient care very seriously. He is engaged in over 200 hours of continuing education per year in all topics of dentistry: dental implants, cosmetics, Invisalign clear orthodontics, microscope-enhanced dentistry, and TMJ management and occlusion. His goal is to treat any patient of any age and exceed their expectations.
Dr. Nick grew up in North Vancouver, attending Boundary Elementary and Sutherland Secondary prior to nine years at the University of British Columbia. There, he earned a Bachelor of Human Kinetics (B.H.K.) degree with a focus on exercise science followed by a Doctorate of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.).
Dr. Nick is an avid athlete who participates in many sports including soccer, running, snowboarding, sailing, tennis, triathlon, and volleyball. Soccer has been his primary focus over the years. He has played at all levels of the game – from the metro and provincial levels during his youth, to varsity and professional levels with the Vancouver Whitecaps. He now plays in the premier league of the Vancouver Men’s Soccer League with Norvan FC.
Dr. Seddon can perform virtually any dental procedure. In order to do this beyond the expectations of his patients, he is an active member in several study clubs in the lower mainland in implant dentistry and dental occlusion; international organizations in cosmetic, implant, and general dentistry; and he is a former member of the faculty of dentistry at UBC. All of these allow Dr. Seddon to stay abreast of the latest research and technology in the dental world.
The Academy of General Dentistry is an organization that believes in advancing the value and excellence of general dentistry. Dr. Seddon has obtained fellowship status, which requires over five hundred hours of continuing education credits and completing a comprehensive examination involving sixteen different dental disciplines.
Dr. Seddon spent three years as a part-time faculty member at UBC. In his first year, he taught operative dentistry and after that, moved on to the 3rd year endodontics program, teaching root canals to students in their pre-clinical education. He enjoys the fulfillment of passing on his knowledge to students, helping them through the learning process.
Dr. Seddon is also a former director with the Vancouver and District Dental Society (VDDS).
